Angie Zito
Principal
Angie moved to Whidbey Island in 2010 with her family, making their home in Coupeville, where she is active within the community through volunteer work and community activism.
Angie was admitted to practice before the IRS as an Enrolled Agent in 2017 and continued her pursuits with an MS in Taxation received in 2025 from Golden Gate University. Her focus at Zito & Associates is to assist our individuals and businesses with tax planning, business services, and IRS resolutions.
She currently serves on the board for the Washington Association of Accountants & Tax Professionals and is president of Washington State Society of Enrolled Agents. She visits Washington D.C., annually, to lobby for tax practitioner and taxpayer rights.
Michele Phillips
Tax Associate
Michele has been working with us since 2021 as an assistant for tax preparation and accounts manager. As a qualified Enrolled Agent she reviews client documentation and helps prepare both individual and business taxes along with preparing reports for our accounting clients.
Michele moved to Leonardtown, MD with her family in 2023 and is working remotely while enjoying the significantly warmer weather and looking forward to finally settling down as a retired military family.
As a Navy veteran, she has experience in helicopter maintenance, records management, auditing practices, customer service and coordinating work flow.
Michele currently has an Associate’s degree in science, a certified Enrolled agent and is working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a focus on accounting.
Kelsey Smith
Operations Manager
Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family and participating in community events. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is committed to using her knowledge, experience, and dedication to help support the clients of Zito & Associates.
Carmen Flores
Accounting Manager
She loves spending time with her family and watching sports such as soccer, MMA, and football.
Her future goals include furthering her education to obtain her CPA license.
Erika Polack
Tax and Accounting Assistant
After moving to Whidbey Island in 2012 and growing up in Oak Harbor, Erika has called it home ever since. She sees her work as a way to give back to the community that shaped her by creating a welcoming and reliable experience for clients.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and recently became an Enrolled Agent. She will be returning to school to pursue her long-term goal of becoming a CPA.
